Having almost 500 students is a lot of eyes and ears to check! About 18 RISD nurses will come on November 1st to assist with Vision and Hearing Screening for our children. They will be working all day with only small breaks. To show our thanks and to keep them going, Heights PTA will organize a lunch for all of the nurses. You too can Sign Up and bring food items to the school library or drop it off on the cart in the front office by 9 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1.
The 2016 Excellence in Education Foundation Spirit Run is Saturday, Nov. 5 - registration is open now.
The Spirit Run directly benefits the students and staff of RISD.
Every week, volunteers are invited to read for 30 minutes to kids during a scheduled library visit. Heights Elementary Librarian has books selected or readers may bring their own. The goal of the program is to reach as many children as possible is to instill the love of literature, learning and libraries.
Please consider Signing Up to read to our children. Volunteer Background check is required beforehand.
When you contribute and support your school, not only do you feel great, but you "give students hope for a successful year and a brighter future."
We are extending the Wildcat Wishes campaign because we are just $340 shy of reaching our goal. Please don't wait and donate today!
Red Ribbon Week (October 24 - 28) is a national week of drug and violence awareness across the United States. The symbol of the red ribbon is a commitment to be a positive role model and never abuse drugs or alcohol. The Red Ribbon Week Campaign was started in response to the murder of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena in 1985. Students and parents across the country began wearing red ribbons to bring attention to the devastation drug abuse causes in America.
