Heights PTA has raised nearly $2,000 in the first week of the Heights Community Campaign! Way to go Wildcat families! With three weeks to go, we need everyone’s continued support to reach our goal of $10,000. This money will pay for a multitude of student and family enrichment programs throughout the year. Additionally, these funds will subsidize the STAR Teacher Fund for use by Heights teachers toward the needs of each classroom (school supplies, field trip expenses, books and much more). The 2017/18 RHE Yearbook can be purchased throughout the school year for $20. Yearbooks will be delivered to your child in May 2018. Pack your blanket, dinner, kids, favorite uncles and aunts, neighbors and come our annual PTA sponsored picnic at Heights Elementary Playground area on September 21, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Find a comfortable spot and start making rounds introducing yourself and meeting others. You will not find a friendlier assembly of characters then the parents of Heights Elementary. Kids - Keep an eye out for the free popsicle stand!
It’s time for the Richardson Heights Elementary PTA’s annual Heights Community Campaign! Families and community members are invited to make a contribution that will help fund student programs, curriculum enrichment and learning support at Heights elementary.
Your child will be coming home with a packet to start the donation drive. We are asking all families to please participate this year! Our goal this school year is to raise $10,000, or just $20 per student. In addition to funding annual PTA operations such as educational assemblies, parent education, teacher appreciation and fun school events, we hope to raise enough money to subsidize the STAR Teacher Fund, which will allow Heights teachers to request funding for items such as school supplies, field trip expenses and books.
Contributions to the Heights Community Campaign are 100% tax-deductible and every cent of every dollar goes directly to serve all of our students. The Heights Community Campaign is your chance to make a difference at Richardson Heights Elementary.

"Dads of Great Students - WATCH D.O.G.S.” stepped up tonight and pledged to spend a day on campus this school year with their proud Wildcat. It was a wonderful turnout and we had over 50 sign-ups! We look forward to having a strong WATCH D.O.G.S. presence at Heights Elementary and appreciate everything you do for our school and community!
Each year Heights students are invited to demonstrate their creative and useful inventions during Invention Convention competition. This year, school judges select the 1st place winners on October 5th and lucky children take their inventions to the RISD Invention Convention for a chance to win great prizes. Final RISD Competition will be held in Berkner High School on November 4th with an award and show to follow.
If you wish to participate in the Invention Convention, express your intent to your teacher by September 19th. Invention Convention instructions packet will be given to those who are interested.
Every week, volunteers are invited to read for 30 minutes to kids during a scheduled library visit. Heights Elementary Librarian has books selected or readers may bring their own. The goal of the program is to reach as many children as possible is to instill the love of literature, learning and libraries.

Heights PTA is offering a student leadership program, RHE PTA ALLSTARS to all paid PTA student members. This program will run from September 2017 through May 2018 and is a great way to build leadership skills while at the same time helping our school. Any student interested in joining ALLSTARS needs to submit Permission Slip by September 22.

General PTA meeting will take place on Thursday, 9/14 at 3:15 p.m. in front of the school. Main item on the agenda is the adoption of modified PTA Standing Rules. All PTA members are encouraged to attend.
